Crazy Pike Photo - Fish Jumped Out Of Water, Got Stuck In Tree, Died, Bird Built Nest In Fish's Mouth
I suppose this photo pretty much speaks for the entire article, but I thought I would share this incredible photo I found, and try to make some sense of it. So here's the story as I see it:
It appears a pike jumped out of water. Why? I have no idea. Perhaps it was chasing food that was swimming or flying around the top of the water and it jumped trying to grab it. Maybe it was trying to impress the female pikes with its hops skills.
But for whatever reason, this fish apparently leaped out of the water and got stuck in a tree. Now out of water, the fish died with its mouth open.
Along comes a mama bird, looking for a home. She builds a nest in the dead fish's mouth, and lays some eggs. The eggs hatch, and now there are at least 3 baby birds staring at us from the dead pike's mouth.
Not a disgusting or gross photo, I think it's just interesting and very cool. And take a look at those teeth!
Saturn, Earth, And Sun To Align On July 9th
July 9, 2019, Saturn, the earth, and the sun will align resulting in a spectacular view of Saturn and several of Saturn's moons including its largest moon, Titan. Titan is 1 1/2 times the size of the earth's moon, and is the largest of Saturn's 62 (that we know of) moons.
When Saturn, the earth, and the sun align, this is called opposition. Saturn, the earth, and the sun will line up in a straight line. Saturn and the sun will be on the outside while the earth will have the middle spot.
At approximately 746 million miles from earth, this will be the closest Saturn will approach the earth in 2019, so make sure you don't miss it! The sun will reflect off Saturn's rings making it extremely bright, so it will be visible all night. It will be most visible in the constellation Sagittarius and it will be in the highest point of the sky around midnight - your local time.
If you don't happen to catch it on July 9th, don't worry. Saturn and some of its moons will still be visible for most of the summer, it just won't be as visible.
