I suppose this photo pretty much speaks for the entire article, but I thought I would share this incredible photo I found, and try to make some sense of it. So here's the story as I see it:
It appears a pike jumped out of water. Why? I have no idea. Perhaps it was chasing food that was swimming or flying around the top of the water and it jumped trying to grab it. Maybe it was trying to impress the female pikes with its hops skills.
But for whatever reason, this fish apparently leaped out of the water and got stuck in a tree. Now out of water, the fish died with its mouth open.
Along comes a mama bird, looking for a home. She builds a nest in the dead fish's mouth, and lays some eggs. The eggs hatch, and now there are at least 3 baby birds staring at us from the dead pike's mouth.
Not a disgusting or gross photo, I think it's just interesting and very cool. And take a look at those teeth!
